OdelEnergy and HydroFoamer strategic partnership announcement

Rotterdam, 6 June 2025 - HydroFoamer BV is pleased to announce a strategic partnership with OdelEnergy AS, a Norwegian hydropower developer, to incorporate HydroFoamer’s low-carbon penstock stabilisation technology into a series of upcoming infrastructure projects.

The partnership builds on a framework agreement signed in late 2024 and has now entered its implementation phase. Three projects have been selected for initial deployment of HydroFoamer’s proprietary system between now and early 2026.

At the heart of the partnership lies a shared commitment to climate-conscious infrastructure: by replacing conventional gravel backfilling and concrete thrust blocks with HydroFoamer’s lightweight polyurethane stabilisation system, CO2 emissions from penstock installation can be reduced significantly.

“This partnership reflects our continued focus on delivering high-performance, low-emission infrastructure,” said Andreas Wikborg, CEO of OdelEnergy. “We are committed to developing hydropower assets that align with long-term environmental and operational objectives.”

The partnership supports HydroFoamer’s mission to promote sustainable infrastructure and is aligned with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, including:

  • SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy
  • SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure
  • SDG 13: Climate Action

Guy Harris, CEO of HydroFoamer, added: “We built this technology for exactly this kind of partner - one with the courage to lead. OdelEnergy understands that performance and sustainability are no longer competing objectives. Together, we’re showing what responsible infrastructure can look like.”

Initial implementation will focus on projects in Norway, with the possibility of further international collaboration involving project stakeholders, EPC contractors and local partners.
